This single was recorded and produced in the United States and here in Bali, where I found inspiration in the natural beauty and serene surroundings. The House of Waves, a beachfront studio and retreat center in Nosara, Costa Rica, released this music, adding another layer of magic to the experience.
“Ide Were Were” is not just a song; it is a mesmerizing journey that immerses you in African-flavored chill-out vibes and ancient chants. As you listen, you’ll be transported to the roots of the Yoruba lineage, connecting with the rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions of West Africa.
In this musical creation, I had the privilege of playing all the instruments, from guitars and bass to keyboards, flute, and percussions. I also lent my voice to the lyrics, which hold profound significance. They pay homage to Oshun, the goddess of love, and invoke her power and influence.
Oshun, the Goddess of Love and River Orisha in West Africa, is beloved in the Yoruba tradition for her ability to bring love, joy, and abundance into our lives. Her presence is felt in the flow of water, money, and love itself. With “Ide Were Were,” we celebrate her beauty, sensuality, and the magic she bestows upon us.
So, my friends, I invite you to embark on this soulful journey with me. Close your eyes, find a comfortable space, and let the music of “Ide Were Were” open your heart and soul. Allow it to bring you peace, joy, and a deep connection to the divine.
As we celebrate my birthday together, I am grateful for your presence and support. Your participation in this musical experience means the world to me. So, once again, from the depths of my heart, thank you for being a part of my journey.
Namaste, and may the enchanting melodies of “Ide Were Were” resonate within you, filling your life with love and inspiration.
